FAQS

+ WHAT IS SEX THERAPY?

Sex therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sexuality, sexual issues such as erectile disfunction and pain during sex, relationships and intimacy. There is never sexual touching, sexual activity, or nudity in sex therapy.

+ If I’m in a relationship does my partner(s) need to come to sessions?

It is helpful to havea team approach to working through erectile issues and enhancing sex life, especially if that sex life involves a partner. However, not everyone feels comfortable involving their partner, especially at the beginning. If you would feel more comfortable starting individually, we can do that and discuss if bringing in your partner later on would feel comfortable.

+ CAN I BENEFIT FROM SEX THERAPY EVEN IF I’M NOT IN A RELATIONSHIP?

Absolutely! You do not need to be partnered in order to benefit from sex therapy but some find if they are partnered, it can be helpful to have partner(s) engage in therapy too. However, you can benefit from better understanding your own journey around sexuality and can communicate that with your partner(s) outside of therapy.

+ HOW LONG ARE SEX THERAPY SESSIONS?

Sessions are 50 minutes and are once per week but may be adjusted once significant progress has been made. We can talk about this together when the time comes.

+ HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

As most therapists will tell you, it depends. Some people may feel their issues are improved or resolved fairly quickly, others may benefit from a longer term approach. This is something we can discuss over the course of our work together.

+ WHAT IS THE INVESTMENT/Fee?

Your time and emotional and mental energy. Therapy is no quick fix. It is hard work, but worth the effort. In addition to your hard work, there is also a financial investment.

50 minute individual sessions are $235

50 minute relationship sessions are $265
